Fun Events for Lancaster Students this February

February may be chilly and dark, but it doesn’t have to be boring. With a new term underway, there are plenty of events to brighten those winter days and nights. Whether you’re living in Lancaster halls on campus, commuting from student housing Lancaster in town or staying with us at Bailrigg Student Living, you’ll find a mix of free and ticketed activities to enjoy this month. From fascinating lectures to theatre shows and walking tours, here are six events worth popping on your calendar!

On Campus

This is a must for anyone interested in religion, ethics, politics or even journalism. You don’t need to be studying Theology, every student is welcome!

2. Take2 Cinema Film Screenings (all month, various dates) .

Are you in need of a cosy movie night, but don’t want to trek into today? Take2 Cinema is Lancaster’s student-run cinema, and it has a brilliant lineup of recent releases and classics. Screenings happen six days a week (Tuesday to Sunday) at Bowland Main Lecture Theatre, with tickets only about £4.50 for students (even less if you’re a member).

Doors open at 7.15pm each night so it's a low-cost night out that’s perfect for when you want to escape the coursework for a couple hours.

3. Wellbeing Woodland Walks

Lancaster University
Mondays, 12:15pm

If you’re feeling stressed, take a lunchtime stroll! Every week, the university’s wellness team leads a 30-minute Woodland Walk around our green campus trails. It’s free! Just show up at the Woodland Walk meeting point with comfy shoes and a warm coat. This is a great way to get some fresh air and meet other students. Plus, a bit of exercise and nature can really boost your mood on those drizzly February days.
